Mystery Solved

On day 12, we mentioned seeing elongated, stone boxes with open slats around the sides which side on stilts atop a low stone hut. We found out they are grain storage bins to protect against the "mices",

  1. Now I remember where I saw a picture of one of those corncribs. See page 140 of July 2011 National Geographic. In that photo, all the cribs in the photo have crosses. Looks very labor intensive to build. Heck of a way to keep out mice.
